Who we are
The Angel Fingers Foundation, Inc. (AFF) was founded in November 2003, and incorporated August 26, 2004, in New Orleans, Louisiana, by Robert Trufant III, an author, screenwriter, inventor and entrepreneur.
Mission:
AFF is a non-profit organization. Our mission is to work diligently to improve the quality of life of children afflicted with syndactyly by ensuring that they are able to live productive lives and participate in all life experiences. It is our hope to eradicate syndactyly through research, education and advocacy.
What is AFF
Angel Fingers Foundation (AFF) is incorporated under the laws of the State of Louisiana to support and conduct non-partisan research, education and informational activities to increase public awareness of syndactyly. A significant amount of financial support will be dedicated to scientific research, in particular for biomedical research including biochemistry and molecular genetics to eliminate the occurrence and more importantly, to eradicate this condition.
We intend to award scholarships to students studying biological sciences pertaining to eradicating syndactyly. In addition, we will provide financial assistance to the legal guardians (not exceeding two) of children up to and including age twelve with syndactyly who will have corrective surgery.
Angel Fingers Foundation, Inc. (AFF) supports and promotes cultural diversity and is obliged at every opportunity to provide assistance to a qualified applicant.
Board of Directors
Robert Trufant founded the Angel Fingers Foundation in November 2003 in honor of his daughter Na'Dya. After one year of college Robert became a small business owner for many years. His companies were Bobby Trufant Insurance and Preferred Executive Transportation. The later of which dissolved after Hurricane Katrina. In addition to being the founder of AFF, Robert is an author, screenwriter, inventor and entrepreneur.
Tinnesha Trufant has a BS degree in General Business with courses in marketing, procuring her jobs in management and banking. She has also worked as a sales consultant. Tinnesha speaks three languages - English, Japanese and Spanish. She is currently a volunteer for CASA as she feels it is her responsibility as a human and mother to be a voice for children who have no voice.
Ronni Glasper has a BA degree in Journalism and taught French and journalism. She has worked in the financial arena and earned a Master's degree in Mass Communications/Public relations. She currently works as a consultant with a focus in underwriting/investor relations, public relations, business management, writing research development and fundraising. Ronni is also a proficient grant writer. Her community affiliations include: The Society of Professional Journalists, the Public Relations Society of America, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Social Enterprise Alliance and Forum 35.
James Santa Cruze is a certified accountant and has worked for the Internal Revenue Service's VITA program. James has a BA degree in Accounting and BS degree in Business Administration. He is an instructor of accounting and has 30 years' experience in the tax business. James specializes in the professional tax preparation of small businesses.
